Avocado

EFAs - Potassium - Tissue Repair
Avocados are creamy fruits that are more healthy fat than sugar and contain more potassium than a banana. Avocadoes are over 75% fat, almost all of which is oleic acid-the same cardioprotective fatty acid found in olive oil. This fat works on its own to help with cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar, but it also helps us absorb and utilize other nutrients like fat soluble vitamins and certain trace elements.

Flax

Energy, B5 Vitamins, Digestion
Flax seeds are high in fiber and omega 3 fatty acids. Both fiber and healthy fats help to slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream and lessen the glucose and insulin burden on the body, which means flax seeds are the perfect partner to your fruit. Flax seeds contain the highest dietary source of lignans, about 7 times as much as sunflower seeds, the second highest source. Lignans act as antioxidants and help prevent atherosclerotic plaque buildup, but they are most known for their role in estrogen metabolism. By aiding in the transformation of estrogens into less harmful forms, lignans and flax seeds can help alleviate PMS symptoms, menopausal hot flashes, and prevent prostate and breast cancers.

Ginger

Energy, B5 Vitamins, Digestion
Ginger is a common spice, but it's health benefits are anything but common. Ginger calms the digestive system, reduces nausea and improves appetite. Gingerol is the primary active compound that suppresses cytokines. Cytokines are involved in inflammation, so ginger is an awesome natural anti-inflammatory herb. Use it to prevent free radical damage and glutathione deletion and to lessen muscle soreness.

Mint

Energy - Digestive - Anti-inflammatory
Mint is a powerful cooling and soothing herb with an energizing aroma. Mint is wonderful for digestion. The aroma can stimulate salivary glands to release digestive enzymes prior to digestion, and the plant itself soothes the stomach, improves bile flow and has been used in the treatment of IBS. Menthol, and active oil in mint, can calm nausea and other motion related illnesses. The anti-inflammatory properties of rosmarinic acid and the decongestant nature of menthol make mint great for respiratory disorders.

Sea Salt

Energy, B5 Vitamins, Digestion
Sea salt is a superior source of trace minerals and electrolytes in the body. Unlike iodized table salt that is bleached and deodorized, sea salt is unrefined and contains naturally high levels of iodine. These trace minerals and electrolytes are used in our body to facilitate cellular communication and regulate blood pressure.
